The Division VI Class C playoff puzzle remains unresolved.

A pair of games tonight will go a long way in deciding who plays where and whether three of the participating teams will make the playoffs.

Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton moved up to No. 12 in the New York State Sports Writers Association Class C rankings this week and will host No. 14 Portville/Cuba-Rushford tonight in Mayville. If the Eagles win tonight, they will be the No. 2 seed in the Class C South.

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove and Southwestern are listed as honorable mentions in Class C. The Pack and the Trojans will play each other tonight at Bill Race Course in Falconer.

If Portville/Cuba-Rushford beat Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton, the Panthers will be the No. 2 seed, the Eagles will be the No. 3 seed, leaving the winner of the Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove-Southwestern game behind. Class C South No. Make 4 seeds.

If Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton beat the Panthers and Southwestern beats the Herd by 15 or more points, Portville/Cuba-Rushford will be out of the playoffs.

Maine-Endwell is No. 1 in Class B. Pioneer was No. 5, Lackawanna was No. 8, Health Sciences/Buffalo Academy of Science/Global Concepts was No. 16, South Park was No. 21, Olean was No. 28 and Maryvale was No. 30, while Depew, Grand Island, Iroquois, Springville and Williamsville South earned honorable mentions. .

Defending champion Waverly remains No. 1 in Class C, while Medina is 13th and Newfane is 17th. Alden, Akron, Cleveland Hill and Eden/North Collins received honorable mentions.

Division II Warrensburg/Lake George/Bolton is ranked No. 1 in Class D.
