Massachusetts Lottery Winner: Man Wins $100,000 Prize Thanks to Free Lotto Ticket

A Massachusetts man won $100,000 with a free lottery ticket he received at a store.

Steven Myers of Roxbury won $100,000 during the Oct. 14 Mass Cash drawing. His ticket matched all five drawing numbers: 1, 8, 28, 32 and 34.

Myers received his winning ticket as part of a Massachusetts Lottery promotion that began on October 1 and will end on October 30.

Myers went to Blue Hill Superette and Roxbury and spent more than $5 on a single ticket, a promotion where customers have a chance to win if they spend $5 or more on a single ticket for any drawing or monitor game.

Blue Hill Superette will receive $1,000 for the sale of the lottery ticket that resulted in Myers’ winnings.

Another similar promotion the lottery ran in May of this year allowed three promotional ticket winners to win $100,000.
