Paige VanZant shared selfie update after Power Slap fight in Abu Dhabi

Former UFC Star Paige VanZant has tried her hand at several combat sports since leaving the Ultimate Fighting Championship in July 2020.

Since retiring from MMA, she has competed in bare-knuckle boxing, professional record boxing, and traditional boxing.

She recently signed a contract with UFC President Dana WhitePower Slap anti-slap promotion. She won her first attempt and competed in her second year in Abu Dhabi this week.

Unfortunately for VanZant, things didn’t go as planned.

After a club foul against Chelsea Dodson, wife of former UFC star John Dodson, the fight ended in a draw. Following the competition, VanZant took to social media to update her fans with the news.

She shared a selfie that showed minimal damage from her opponent’s slaps.

She also shared the video on her Instagram Stories apologizes for the foul, takes responsibility and promises to grow, and also says that he plans to return to Power Slap in the future.

“Okay guys, Power Slap is over. I came home with a prank and accidentally hit her with a baton. It was my fault. Still learning, I was too close to one of my shots,” she said.

“I just need to get the distance right for the next one, but Power Slap, you’ll see me again.”

During her time in mixed martial arts, VanZant compiled a record of 8-5. She is 0-0-1 in professional boxing and 0-2 in fistfights.

It’s been a rocky road for VanZant in her post-UFC career, but she said she doesn’t need the money, she just competes to challenge herself and for the love of the game.
