Top NASCAR free agents without trips in 2025

The 2024 NASCAR season is coming to an end, but many drivers are still trying to iron out their plans for 2025.

As Daytona’s top banks welcome the start of 2025 in less than four months, here are the top NASCAR free agents still seeking opportunities for next season:

Corey Haim

Current Drive: NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series No. 11, TRICON Garage.
Heim may be NASCAR’s top prospect right now, but he hasn’t officially announced his plans for 2025. Heim was linked to a third member of 23XI Racing over the summer, but that rumor has cooled considerably.

Signs point to Heim staying with TRICON for another season – a reality the team would be happy to accept and the Truck Series would be afraid of – but the 22-year-old is clearly ready for the Cup Series.

Keep an eye on LEGACY Motor Club as a potential Cup candidate to land Heim this offseason, as well as Sam Hunt Racing in the Xfinity Series. Heim has already competed for both organizations in 2024, and both teams are under the Toyota umbrella.

Zane Smith

Current Race: NASCAR Cup Series No. 71, Spire Motorsports.
The first 18 races of Smith’s first Cup Series season went horribly wrong, but for the next 15 races he was one of the best drivers in the series. Smith’s scoring average for the second half of the season is 15.9, including a second-place finish in Nashville where Smith nearly stole the win and clinched a playoff berth.
