Man found guilty of murder in Bollinger County, Missouri case; Trial date changed for second suspect

BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) – A southeast Missouri man has been found guilty of murdering a woman in 2021.

Eric Nanney’s trial began on Tuesday, October 22. It ended on Friday, October 25th. Nannie was found guilty of first-degree murder and abandonment of a corpse..

His sentencing is scheduled for November 2.

Caitlin Morgan’s Oct. 22 jury trial was canceled and a new trial date was set for Nov. 21, according to online court records.

The trial of the third defendant in the investigation will begin in February.

Nanney and Morgan were charged with first-degree murder and abandonment of a corpse after investigators said they found the body of a missing Illinois woman on their property in October 2021.

Investigators say the victim, Brianna Roberts, was stabbed and shot multiple times.
