Former Muskegon County deacon pleads guilty to possession of child pornography

MUSKEGON, MI – A former Muskegon County deacon has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.

Daniel DeVries, who worked at Unity Reformed Church in Norton Shores, was charged in March and given $25,000 bail.

The Muskegon County District Attorney’s Office says DeVries pleaded guilty this week to one count of child sexual abuse material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime. He was initially charged with three of each.
