Thal effect? Ravindra Jadeja’s effort has fans drawing parallels with MS Dhoni

Ravindra Jadeja’s incredible impromptu try to bowl out Will O’Rourke in the second innings of the Test in Pune on Saturday, October 26 had fans drawing parallels with M.S. Dhoni. The incident took place in the 70th over as New Zealand were rocked by their bowling on the day as Jadeja left the visitors with a lead of over 350 and with their last wicket down.

At this point, Glenn Phillips was farming the shot and was the aggressor. During Jadeja’s delivery, Phillips hit the offside and the ball hit Washington Sundar. However, the all-rounder reacted a little slowly, allowing Phillips to gain a second. Jadeja quickly placed the ball on the stumps without looking at them, Dhoni style. Although everyone initially thought that O’Rourke may have reached the crease, replays showed that he lacked the strength.
