Scooter driver seriously injured when hit by truck in Chelsea, police say

A 31-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a box truck in Chelsea while riding a scooter, according to a statement from the Chelsea Police Department.

Chelsea police and fire departments responded to Beecham Street near Everett around 6:15 a.m. Saturday after receiving reports of the crash, the report said.

Officials at the scene administered first aid to the injured Chelsea player. He was transported by ambulance to MGH Boston with life-threatening injuries, according to the statement.
