The Florida A&M football team defeated Southern 24-6, their first game at Bragg Memorial Stadium in nearly two months due to a hurricane postponement.

I’m Alberto Camargo, your reporter from College Town.

Saturday’s win here in Brag makes it 22 in a row, the second-longest streak in the country.

“I don’t remember when this happened!”

Since then, the Rattlers have left the field with a W 22 times.

Coach James Colsey II praises the atmosphere at Bragg, saying it energizes his players during tough times and bad times throughout the game.

“At the end of the day, we have the best fans in the country, the best band in the country, the best alumni support in the country.”

“That’s when I play best. I love all this excitement, all this hype. I’m just having fun.”

Talking to fans, they say Bragg on Saturday – under the lights – is something truly unique.

“The way the crowd and the football team feed off the band gives us an advantage that no one else in the SWAC has.”

Colzie says the episode also adds a bit of healthy pressure.

“We don’t want to be the team that misses this series.”

The Rattlers’ next game isn’t just a home game, it’s certainly a homecoming.

FAMU plays Texas Southern at 4:00 p.m., looking to extend that winning streak in front of a special homecoming crowd.
