Man killed in crash near I-10, Houston police investigate

HOUSTON – Houston The police department is investigating after a man died in a police-involved hit-and-run Saturday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m., officers noticed a disturbance due to erratic traffic on westbound I-10 near Lockwood and approached the vehicle. One man got out of his car without complying with police orders and ran down an embankment onto the freeway.

Police officers were pursuing a man who was trying to cross the highway. According to police, the car failed to stop and hit the man.

Law enforcement officers pronounced the man dead at the scene.
