San Francisco Giants Should Try To Steal Dodgers Star Outfielder

San Francisco Giants They are expected to be very busy during the upcoming MLB offseason. They are expected to try and make an effort to return to serious contention in the 2025 season.

As is usually the case, the Giants have money to spend and are an attractive destination. Unfortunately, they have failed in most of their big free agent moves over the past few years.

Over the past few months, San Francisco has been mentioned as a potential dark horse team when it comes to superstar outfielder Juan Soto. While he would be a top target for the Giants, it is highly unlikely that he would sign with the team.

Instead, San Francisco will have to pivot and focus on other potential targets that could bring a big bat to the lineup.

One such potential target could be your worst rival.

Los Angeles Dodgers Star outfielder Teoscar Hernandez could be a great target for the Giants this offseason and would bring with him the kind of bat they desire.

San Francisco should seriously consider applying full-field pressure in an attempt to steal Hernandez away from the Dodgers.

During the 2024 MLB season with Los Angeles, Hernandez played 154 regular season games. He hit 33 home runs and 99 RBIs while batting .272/.339/.501.

Hernandez will bring elite power to the Giants, and he also has a quality bat in addition to just having power. He is the type of player who can take San Francisco’s roster to the next level.

In the postseason, Hernandez played a critical role in the Dodgers’ run to the World Series. He hit three home runs and drove in 10 RBIs. Adding that experience and clutch manufacturing would also be a big help.

At 32 years old, the star outfielder has yet to play good baseball. He would be well worth a four or five year contract.

There are plenty of options the Giants could look at. Cody Bellinger could be another option for San Francisco if he opts out of a free agency deal.

All things considered, the chance to both sign Hernandez to be a big part of the roster and weaken Los Angeles by stealing him would be the ideal scenario for the Giants.
