Yoruba Council explains why Tinubu appointed Bianca Ojukwu as minister

FCT, Abuja—In response to the growing debate over the appointment of Bianca Ojukwu as Minister, Yoruba Council Worldwide has sent a strong message to the Igbo community.

In particular, Barr. Oladotun Hassan, the council president, urged them to view the selection as a testament to merit rather than ethnic favoritism.

“This appointment is not related to ethnic negotiations. The President carefully took into account her intellectual abilities and experience. Serving as minister is a great opportunity for her and the region she represents.”

The council also urged the Igbo community to avoid controversy over the appointment, instead praising the skills Ojukwu brings to his new position.

“Let the Igbos know that this appointment should not be seen as some kind of strategic move or ‘playing ostrich’. It’s about her qualifications and the president’s confidence in her capabilities.”
