Graham doesn’t call Harris a ‘fascist’ but says she’s ‘incompetent’

Sep. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) refused to support the former president Donald Trumpcriticism of the vice president Kamala Harris as a “fascist” and a “communist,” and Republicans are scrutinizing Harris for agreeing with the former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said Trump fits the definition of a “fascist.”

“Why don’t you ask me if I think Kamala Harris is a fascist? No. Do I think she’s a communist? No,” Graham told ABC. this week on Sunday. “I think she is the most liberal person ever to be under the control of a major party. I think it’s ineffective. I think she’s incompetent.”

When pressed on whether there are any complaints against the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) were hypocritical: The pair said Democratic rhetoric incited two attempts on Trump’s life; Graham repeated that he had no intention of calling Harris a “fascist.”

“She is simply incompetent and incapable and will be a lousy president,” he said.

Graham called his relationship with Kelly “good” but said the former four-star Marine Corps The general “undermines” the tradition of generals being “apolitical” due to an “emotional” response.

“He has a right to his opinion; I just categorically reject it,” he said. “What happened to the joy on the part of the Democrats? They joyfully concluded that Trump is now Hitler. This is desperation.”

In an interview published last week, Kelly, who was Trump’s chief of staff from 2017 to 2019, said New York Times that Trump “certainly fits the general definition of a fascist” and that he once said that Adolf Hitler “did some good things.”

Kelly’s interview took place the day after Atlantic published a similar story about Trump allegedly saying, “I want generals like Hitler had.” The Trump campaign denied that claim, joking that Kelly had a “debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Graham was also asked about the former first lady. Michelle ObamaTrump’s campaign debuted in Michigan this weekend, making an impassioned plea for black men to support Harris, especially to protect abortion access.

“Michelle Obama is a good person,” the senator said. “She is very eloquent. But every time Obama picks the Democratic nominee, we win. You know, (former President Barack) Obama chose (former Secretary of State Hillary) Clinton. We defeated her. They quit (President Joe) Biden behind Harris.

“I think Trump will beat Harris simply because she has had a lot of time to convince people that she will get the country back on track, and all the wrong numbers persist,” he added. “When you ask people who you trust most to solve the problems you care about most, it’s Trump, not her.”
