Jennifer Lopez’s son is a wrestler in the movie

Jennifer Lopez plays the mother of a college wrestler whose journey includes many challenges in the film’s trailer Amazon MGM Studios‘biographical sports film Unstoppable.

William Goldenberg’s fact-based drama will open in select theaters on December 6 before streaming on Prime Video on January 16, 2025. Jharrel Jerome, Bobby CannavaleMichael Pena and Don Cheadle complete the cast.

Unstoppable The film centers on Anthony Robles (Jerome), a student-athlete who was born without a right leg and endured an abusive upbringing with dreams of becoming a successful college wrestler.

“When people look at me, the first thing they see is what’s missing,” Jerome says in the trailer. “If I win, having one leg won’t be the most important thing to me.”

Lopez later gives a rousing speech to his son. “You get people to believe in something,” she says. “When they see you, they don’t see a person who doesn’t have a leg. They see someone who is unstoppable.”

Goldenberg makes his directorial debut from a script by Eric Champnella, Alex Harris and John Hindman. The film is based on a 2012 book. Unstoppable: from underdog to invincible: how I became a championn, which Robles co-wrote with Austin Murphy.

The film’s producers are Robles. Ben AffleckDavid Crockett Matt DamonAndy Fraser, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Gary Lewis.

Unstoppable The premiere took place in Toronto International Film Festival. In his review for Hollywood ReporterChief film critic David Rooney wrote that “any sense of emotional manipulation in the script is more than justified by the extraordinary human drama of Robles’ story.”
