Narragansett police chief to retire next month

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) — The Narragansett Police Department announced Wednesday that Chief Sean Corrigan will retire in November.

Corrigan’s last day will be Nov. 8 after nearly three decades of law enforcement service.

“It has been a pleasure to serve with the Narragansett Police Department for the past 28 years,” Corrigan said. “I am deeply grateful for the support I have received from everyone in the police department, city employees, the City Council, the citizens of Narragansett and our federal and state law enforcement partners.”

Corrigan first became a police officer with the department in 1996 and has served as its chief since 2016.

Capt. Kyle Rekas will succeed Corrigan as the city’s next police chief.
