Ahli Sidab sank Al-Suwaiq, Seeb defeated Al-Nasr

The Oman Basketball League’s 2024-25 season delivered impressive results on Tuesday at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. Ahly Sidab beat Al Suwaiq 104-20 while Seeb recorded a comfortable win over Al Nasr 101-47.

In the first match, Ahly Sidab scored a convincing victory over Al Suwaiq, who are participating in the league for the first time. Ahly Sidab’s dominance was evident throughout the game, drawing on the experience of key players such as the professional Galin, as well as Hamir Al Hasani and Ahmed Al Hassani.

Ahly Sidab started the first quarter strongly, leading 23-2, with Hamir Al Hasani and Haitham Bani Araba making key contributions. The team maintained control in the second quarter, ending the half with a 43–8 lead. In the third quarter, Ahly Sidab continued their dominance, adding 38 points compared to just 2 for Al Suwaiq, ending the period with a score of 81-10. In the fourth quarter, Ahly Sidab further increased the lead by scoring another 23 points, ending the game with a score of 104–20.

The game was officiated by international referees Thani al-Khalasi (first referee), Wafa al-Samri (second referee) and Taha al-Amri (third referee). The scoreboard was kept by Miad al-Hamdani, Huda al-Hinai and Mahmoud al-Ajmi.

In the second match, Seeb confirmed their superiority over Al-Nasr. The game started with an early advantage for Seeba thanks to Marwan Al-Hadidi’s contribution, although Al-Nasr briefly equalized with a strike from fellow professional Masoud Hashemi. Seabu managed to end the first quarter with a 23-15 lead.

Seeb continued to shine in the second quarter thanks to outstanding performances from the likes of Hassan Al Faraji, Romeo and Abdulrahman Al Shoaibi, ending the first half with a 49-29 lead.

Al Nasr tried to close the gap in the third quarter, with Jalal al Musallami scoring two points. However, Seeb responded quickly through punter Aslam al-Jami and Mazen al-Hadidi, extending the lead to 78-40 at the end of the period.

In the final quarter, Seeb maintained its offensive momentum, taking advantage of Al Nasr’s mistakes to score more points. The lead reached 90–46 before the game ended with Seab winning 101–47.

The second match was officiated by Rashid Al Mushaifri (first referee), Ali Al Salmani (second referee) and Al Mahdi Al Alawi (third referee). The tally table was kept by Miad al-Hamdani, Omaima al-Hajri and Sharifa al-Zadjali.
