PSV supporters banned from traveling to Parc des Princes

PSV Eindhoven will be stripped of support for their upcoming Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain after French authorities imposed a banning order on Dutch fans.

In a public statement, PSV confirmed that French police based their decision on previous incidents with Dutch fans, such as last season when the club traveled to face RC Lens in the League group stage. champions. The PSV also noted that the police had informed it that certain internal security issues had contributed to the final outcome.

PSV said: “PSV regrets not only the decision of the French authorities but also the timing of it. All preparations had already been made and many costs had been incurred. In addition, the selection of Peter Bosz counted on the support of loyal supporters.”

This is not the first time that continental supporters cannot attend their club’s matches in France. Last season, Sevilla supporters were banned from traveling to Lens.

Chance of redemption for PSG

The two teams will face each other in a week, on October 22. PSG will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season which came in the previous round of the competition when they lost 2-0 to Arsenal.
