Emmerdale’s Billy surprise new ally in illegal secret fight – but warning is issued | Soaps

Billy Fletcher and John Sugden shake hands as Mack Boyd looks on in Emmerdale

Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) got himself in over his head with this illegal fight in Emmerdale.

He entered the obscure sport with the best of intentions; to provide a better life for his wife and children. With Evan being so sick and dependent on Dawn (Olivia Bromley), he feels almost useless at times.

That, coupled with the fact that they had to leave Home Farm and fend for themselves, Billy sought a new purpose to feel in control again.

He thought he discovered this while participating in illicit boxing, but now he can’t leave – not only because he’s become dependent on money, but also because the people he works for won’t allow it.

It already almost cost him his life, after he accidentally fell on something sharp during a fight (allegedly) and was left biting on a belt while John stitched him up without anesthesia.

After a brush with death, and despite warnings to stop, Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) is shocked to discover that his friend is preparing for yet another fight. But Mack can’t stop him, so all he can do is help him.

Luckily, Billy is about to get a guardian angel in a very strange form.

Now that John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) knows what he’s doing, John offers Billy some help. This help turns into a coaching session and Mackenzie is impressed by John’s skills.

But there’s a catch in the tail for Billy as he’s about to receive a stern warning, from the least likely side.

John is secretly not convinced by Billy’s new livelihood, and he enlists his bedfellow Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) to convince Billy that he is in no condition to fight. It’s a big step to get Aaron involved in this. Will Billy listen?
