The State Council, also known as China’s Cabinet, recently implemented regulations on controlling exports of dual-use goods, which will take effect on December 1.

The new regulations are not intended to ban exports of dual-use goods, but rather to better align with international standards, the Justice Ministry and the Commerce Ministry said in a joint statement on Saturday.

Dual-use goods refer to goods, technologies and services that can be used for civilian and military purposes or to enhance military potential, particularly those that can be used in the design, development, production or use weapons of mass destruction and their transport. vehicles.

The new regulations aim to establish a unified and effective export control system for dual-use items, while creating a stable, transparent and predictable institutional environment to facilitate compliant trade in these items, authorities added.
