City Park & Rec employees deal with dirty, non-functional bathrooms and showers

BALTIMORE — A new report from Baltimore City’s inspector general has been released, finding even more dangerous and unsanitary working conditions.

Over the summer, WMAR-2 News reported in-depth on the poor conditions City DPW workers face every day.

This new report focuses on recreation and park facilities, particularly the Caroll Park Golf Course on Washington Boulevard.

About 15 people work in the office, mainly responsible for landscaping and maintenance tasks.

A visit by the Inspector General revealed widespread rodent infestation and non-functional toilets and showers for employees.

Expired state inspection permits from the Maryland Department of Labor and Agriculture’s State Pesticide Agency were posted in the office.
