Police find body of missing man in Antigo

ANTIGO, Wis. (WSAW) – The Antigo Police Department said the body of a missing man was found early Wednesday afternoon.

Antigo Police Chief Dan Duley told NewsChannel 7 that Matt Howard was reported missing by his sister on Monday. She told NewsChannel 7 he was last seen Saturday morning.

Chief Duley said Howard’s car was found hanging on a log in a wooded area Monday. Ground searches in this area took place until Wednesday morning. He said Howard’s body was found in the woods near Cedar Road, just north of Now Road. This location is in the town of Rolling, east of Highway 45 and north of the Shawano-Langlade county line.

The Langlade County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death. The preliminary cause of death has not been released.
